This Suburban is the result of a customer request for the ‘ultimate dune runner - with room for at least 6.’
Completed in the spring of 2008, this Suburban is the result of a customer request for the ‘ultimate sand dune truck, with room for 6 plus’. Starting as a 3-door Suburban from the south, a full nut-and-bolt restoration followed with many modifications being made. A full roll cage was installed, the rear floor was lowered 3”, and the suspension was raised. A Chevy crate motor powers the truck - which, since completion, has had two successful seasons of operation.
Every thing is coming together.
Nearly every aspect of this project was fabricated or custom-made to fit.
A Chevy 502ci crate motor with 450 hp and 550 ft-lbs of torque provides the power.
The seating consists of 8 Corbeau red racing seats.
The floor was lowered 3 inches to level it with the rest of the truck prior to seat installation. The interior was sprayed with an epoxy paint for durability and ease of maintenance.
Stripped, prepped, painted FLY (Ferrari Light Yellow).
The top comes off and a roll cage goes in and the floor is lowered 3” in the rear. Some of the many tasks handled by our friends at Bonefied Customs.
A nice 1972 Suburban 3-door, ready to start a new life as “Dune runner”.
