SOLD: 1971 De Tomaso Pantera

VIN: THPNLY01719

Black Exterior with Black Interior; 5-Speed Manual; California car until 2001; Tons of Service Work/Upgrades; Tons of Receipts/Records; Regular Maintenance; Excellent/Straight Car.

This 1971 De Tomaso Pantera lived in California before coming to Michigan in 2001. The Ford 351 Cleveland (engine number: 2F186721) was fully rebuilt by Performance Engineering Racing Engines, Inc. in Jenison, Michigan in 2001. The owner kep receipts and photos for all this work, including previous work done in California.

Fox Motorsports then purchased the car for a client in July of 2007. It has remained under our fastidious care ever since. It lives in climate-controlled storage and on a battery trickle charger when not in use. It has never seen rain, salt, or snow and has had very few miles put on the car over that past 7 years.

Fox Motorsports has done annual service work on the Pantera as well as further work. Here are the details:

-Full fluid service and complete overhaul of front and rear suspension including axles (2007)
-New wheels/tires (2007)
-New battery cables, batter, and mounting bracket (2008)
-Full service including oil/filter and coolant (2009)
-New fuel pump (2010)
-Replace fuel lines, fix choke linkage, and full service with oil/filter, coolant, and brake fluid (2011)
-Full service with oil/filter, coolant, and brake fluid (2013)
-Disassemble carburetor and replace bowl and meter plate gaskets. Clear carb (2013)

This Pantera is an early car with the inside fuel filler setup and flat rear deck lid. The car was originally yellow. It was painted black, sometime in the late 1990s. The paint is showing it’s age (cracking in spots and other flaws) but the rest of the car is extremely nice.

Included in the sale are records/photos, original Pantera magazine ad, original wheels, engine/luggage tray, space saver spare with cover, and windshield wiper arms/blades.
